Hearing in Stines murder trial set for next week

Late District Judge Kevin Mullins and Sheriff Mickey StinesWHITESBURG, Ky. — A hearing has been scheduled in the case of former Letcher County Sheriff Shawn Mickey Stines. Stines is charged with murder for shooting Letcher District Judge Kevin Mullins multiple times in his chambers on Sept. 19, 2024. The entire incident was captured on security cameras. On Thursday, Special Judge Christopher Cohron scheduled a hearing in Letcher Circuit Court for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 18. Community Trust Bank again Kentucky’s top SBA community bank lender

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – For the 17th consecutive year, Community Trust Bank Inc. has earned the “Gold Lender Award” from the United States Small Business Administration as Kentucky’s top volume SBA 7(a) Community Bank lender in federal fiscal year 2024–25. SBA approved 60 guaranteed 7(a) loans for Community Trust Bank customers in Kentucky totaling $12,596,200, in the fiscal year. Three Wildcats Named to PFSN All-SEC Teams

Press Release: UK Athletics Kentucky junior offensive lineman Jalen Farmer was named Second Team All-Southeastern Conference and both senior offensive lineman Jager Burton and junior defensive lineman Mi’Quise Humphrey Grace were tabbed Third Team All-SEC by Pro Football and Sports Network (PFSN), it was announced Thursday. Farmer, a 6-foot-5, 318-pounder from Covington, Georgia, started all 12 of Kentucky’s games at right guard and graded out 100 percent on his assignments and 84 percent overall.
