ASHLAND, Ky. — A former Magoffin County teacher has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for enticing a student to engage in sexual activity. Jason Back, 44, of Salyersville, pleaded guilty to a federal charge of online enticement back in January. In doing so, he admitted to texting a 17-year-old girl in March of 2023, sending her sexually explicit messages and making plans for him to pick her up to have sex in his car. Soccer season kicked off around the state Monday, and the Johnson Central Golden Eagles started the season strong with a 4-3 win over Jackson City High School. Ty Wilson led the effort for the Golden Eagles, scoring all four goals. Jackson Evans added two assists, while Gavin Webb chipped in one.
