PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Prosecutors in the murder case against M.K. McKinney are asking a Pike Circuit Court judge to allow evidence of two prior incidents involving knives at his father’s home in Martin. According to a notice filed by Floyd County Commonwealth’s Attorney Brent Turner, both incidents allegedly occurred after people left the Seasons Inn and gathered at the McKinney residence on Arkansas Creek Road. McKinney is charged with the murder of Amber Spradlin in his father’s home early on the morning of June 18, 2023. She had been stabbed at least a dozen times in the head and neck. […]

LONDON, Ky. — A Letcher County podcaster appears to have won her lawsuit against Jenkins Independent Schools over the district’s attempt to bar her from school events and property. The two sides filed a joint motion on Thursday, asking U.S. District Judge Karen K. Caldwell to enter a final judgment making permanent a preliminary injunction barring the school district from enforcing its no-trespass order.
