PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A man who drowned Friday evening at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park has been identified. Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson identified the man as Damon Adams, 22, of Prestonsburg. At 7:22 p.m., Friday, a caller to 911 reported seeing Adams swimming at Dewey Lake, then go under and not resurface.That prompted a massive response from Prestonsburg Fire Department, Prestonsburg Police, the Floyd County Rescue Squad, Floyd County Emergency Management, the Deparment of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. LONDON, Ky. — A Floyd County woman is facing a potential life sentence, after once again being indicted on federal drug charges. Gretchen Bevins, 46, of David, also known as Gretchen Woodruff, now faces charges of distributing meth and possession of meth and fentanyl with the intent to distribute. The charges result from her arrest in Pikeville back in April, when police raided her hotel room as part of an ongoing drug investigation. LONDON, Ky. — Two Eastern Kentucky men have been indicted in federal court, after they were allegedly found with firearms, despite previous felony convictions. Stanley Duty, 54, of Phelps, and Steven Lumpkins, 45, of Oil Springs, were each indicted on single counts of felon in possession of a firearm in separate, unrelated cases. According to their indictments, Duty was found with four handguns and a rifle May 20, 2025, in Pike County, while Lumpkins was found with a handgun and a rifle May 29, 2025, in Floyd County.
