PSC approves rate increase for Mountain Water District
FRANKFORT, Ky. — Mountain Water District customers in Pike County will see higher water bills under a rate increase approved by the Kentucky Public Service Commission. The increase will be phased in over two years. For a typical residential customer using about 3,100 gallons a month, the bill will increase by about $4.11 in the first year. It will increase another $4.11 the following year. That will bring the average residential bill from $46.49 to $54.72 once both increases go into effect. First-year Wildcat head coach and Kentucky native Will Stein becomes only the second Kentucky coach this millennium to win his first game on the sidelines. Ironically, Stein defeated the hometown team of former Kentucky head coach and all-time winningest coach Mark Stoops. Stoops, the most tenured coach in the SEC, departed this offseason with a 4-8 record in his 12th year in the program. […]

Kentucky jobs initiative aims to boost second-chance jobs
FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Comeback initiative is opening doors for second-chance employment in the Commonwealth. Over the past decade, workforce participation rates in Kentucky have ranked among the lowest in the nation. In response, the Kentucky Chamber Foundation launched the Kentucky Comeback initiative in 2020.
